Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to support the Project Safety Program across North America, helping develop site safety policies and oversee field activities for regulatory compliance. You will contribute to a culture of safety and assist with incident prevention and training.

The internship offers exposure to construction management, on-site work across multiple locations, and potential relocation as needed, along with mentorship and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program including development of site safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in monitoring construction activities for compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Help establish and monitor safe working conditions for personnel.
• Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in tracking and reporting safety performance.
• Review project work plans for conformance with standards and assist in safety program audits, coaching and onsite training.
