Job summary

Amarr, a part of ASSA ABLOY, is hiring a Finishing Operator to support powder coating operations. You will prepare materials, select finishes, load components, apply coatings, and conduct quality inspections, ensuring process adherence and documentation throughout the shift.

Monday - Thursday; 7am - 5:30pm. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, ability to read specifications, operate tools, and lift up to 45 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret cut sheets, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, powered tools, and assembly equipment.
• Basic understanding of measurements and dimensional requirements.
• Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures and other inspection tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret cut sheets, work orders, and specifications to determine colors, finishes, and processing requirements.
• Obtain, identify, and stage materials for finishing operations.
• Inspect incoming components for defects and readiness for finishing.
• Load and hang components onto racks or systems for coating coverage.
• Set up and operate powder coating and finishing equipment.
• Perform color changes and finish changeovers while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor coating application for proper coverage and finish quality.
• Verify coating thickness and color match using inspection tools.
• Conduct in-process and final quality inspections against requirements.
• Identify and report non-conforming materials or finishes.
• Move finished products to designated locations and maintain documentation.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate concerns.
