Job summary

G&W Electric in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a Powder Coat Operator to prepare components for coating, load/unload parts, and operate coating equipment, ensuring parts meet quality standards and production timelines.

You will follow safety rules, perform inspections, bake/ cure parts, document production, and assist training teammates in powder coat tasks at our state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and Bills of Material.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Able to work in a fast paced environment coordinating work with other team members.
• Able to communicate instructions clearly and professionally.
• Can work independently without constant supervision.
• Must understand and follow verbal and written English instructions.
• Ideally 1–2 years in manufacturing.
• 1–2 years of experience as a painter or powder coat operator.

Responsibilities

• Prepare components for powder coat application including loading and unloading.
• Operate coating equipment including guns, hoppers, and booth systems.
• Follow all powder coating procedures and quality checks.
• Perform visual inspections to ensure coating quality.
• Bake/cure parts to specification within time limits.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and proper equipment maintenance.
• Document production and quality activities.
• Communicate efficiently with team members at all levels.
• Assist in training others in powder coat operations as needed.
