Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to design and shepherd complex projects from ideation to execution at our Springdale site. Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience.
• 5+ years’ applicable engineering experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer Skills: Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheet, database and scheduling programs. Microsoft exposure preferred.
• Capable of working on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude while requiring limited supervision; Has demonstrated repeated ability to complete complex projects on time and on budget; good knowledge of a variety of Mechanical Engineering disciplines concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Travel: 50% will vary by project location and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Design and initiate complex projects from ideation to execution, developing scope of work and specifications for proposals.
• Provide effective project management from inception through construction and installation; organize design resources and supervise design, specification and procurement.
• Coordinate company objectives regarding capacity, operability, economics and timelines; select approved contractors and determine best systems for a given application.
• Maintain knowledge of project cost and assume responsibility for cost management; consult with accounting on project accounting and expenses.
• Ensure compliance with Safety Coordinators and Tyson/OSHA regulations; provide conceptual design engineering including process flow diagrams, mass balance, and estimates.
