Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Decatur, AL is seeking a Poultry Processing Supervisor for the Retail or Further processing departments to supervise production personnel and ensure compliance with HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs and USDA/OSHA regulations while meeting production schedules and customer specifications.

The role emphasizes leadership, process optimization, safety, reporting, and cross-training, with responsibilities across plants and collaboration with QA to maintain a safe, efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in manufacturing; three years in food poultry preferred.
• One year leadership experience including knowledge of timekeeping requirements, policy adherence, conflict resolution.
• Knowledge of poultry processing, food safety regulations, OSHA, GMP and HACCP.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; multi-language ability preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
• Proficient computer and math skills.
• Self-starter with initiative and urgency in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage retail or further processing production line to meet schedules and budgets.
• Deploy and rotate personnel to optimize efficiency and ergonomics.
• Ensure daily reports and records are completed (attendance, yields, etc.).
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and reduce repeat deficiencies.
• Lead or participate in process improvement planning and monitor metrics.
• Partner with Quality Assurance to maintain food safety and USDA compliance.
• Mentor, coach and cross-train employees; provide feedback for growth.
• Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions fairly.
• Follow safety initiatives and ensure PPE usage where mandatory.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet goals and union requirements if applicable.
• Learn and adhere to current union contracts if applicable.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
