Job summary

Pilgrim’s is hiring Hatchery/Embrex Laborers for our Pittsburg, Texas hatchery. You will handle eggs, monitor incubation, assist with chick hatching, and conduct quality checks to uphold biosecurity and animal welfare standards.

The role requires lifting and operating hatchery equipment in a fast-paced setting. We offer benefits after 60 days, including medical, vision and dental, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, holidays, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in poultry or food industry is a plus.
• Able to multitask and work quickly with good written and spoken communication.
• Must be a team player and able to follow safety and sanitation protocols.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle and set eggs in incubators according to procedures.
• Monitor incubation conditions (temperature, humidity, ventilation).
• Assist with chick hatching and transfer.
• Perform quality checks on eggs and chicks for health and biosecurity.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
• Follow biosecurity and animal welfare protocols.
• Record data on egg counts, hatch rates, and chick quality.
• Assist with vaccination and preparation for transport.
• Lift up to 50lbs or more as part of duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
