Job summary

Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Technician for the Postpartum Unit. You will work under a RN, assist with vital signs, EKG, catheter care, bathing, feeding, and discharge preparation, and participate in unit safety and patient experience initiatives.

Qualified applicants have CNA training or nursing clinical rotation experience; current BLS from AHA is required; inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred
• Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association required

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit
• Assist with Vital Signs (including manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room and preparing patients for discharge
• Assist with the implementation of a patient-specific care plan
• Participate in activities essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Contribute to safety outcomes and high-quality patient experience
