Job summary

Providence Swedish in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced RN to join our postpartum lactation team as a Lactation Consultant. This full-time day-shift role focuses on family-centered care, breastfeeding support, and collaborative care planning.

You will assess patients, develop care plans, educate families, and work with multidisciplinary teams to promote healthy outcomes. Requires WA RN license, BLS, NRP, and lactation credentials; IBCLC preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• National Provider NRP - American Academy of Pediatrics upon hire.
• 1 year Nursing experience.
• IBCLC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects and interprets patient assessment data to identify needs.
• Develops, reviews, and revises an individualized care plan.
• Evaluates patient’s response and documents changes in condition.
• Uses nursing process to teach and document patient care.
• Prepares for discharge/transfer and documents the process.
• Delivers care with nursing principles; adjusts priorities by acuity.
• Considers patient age in assessment and care decisions.
• Communicates with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.
• Documents accurate information and reports to the incoming shift.
