Job summary

Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA seeks an RN Lactation Consultant for direct and indirect care of breastfeeding mother-baby pairs, advancing care per standards and center policies.

The role collaborates with nurses, physicians and departments to assess, plan, implement and evaluate breastfeeding care, and to help couples reach their breastfeeding goals beyond the early weeks, in a supportive Providence environment. This is a part-time, variable-shift position onsite.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• National Provider NRP - American Academy of Pediatrics upon hire.
• One (1) year Nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Render direct and indirect patient care for breastfeeding mother-baby pairs.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians and departments to plan and evaluate care.
• Promote breastfeeding goals beyond the first weeks.
• Serve as a lactation resource for staff and families.
