Job summary

CGS is seeking a PostgreSQL Database Developer to join our team supporting a rapidly growing Data Analytics and BI platform for federal customers. You will migrate from Oracle to PostgreSQL and proactively manage database environments in Linux to ensure scalability and performance.

As a key member, you will implement backup/DR, monitor availability, and collaborate with internal and external teams in an Agile setting to deliver secure, high-performance data services.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience administering PostgreSQL in Linux environments.
• Experience migrating Oracle schemas and objects to PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency with backup and disaster recovery processes.
• Familiarity with cloud PostgreSQL (Azure/AWS) environments.
• Strong documentation and ability to translate requirements into technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL on Azure PostgreSQL.
• Manage and tune database performance for mission-critical analytics.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Ensure high availability, security, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Collaborate in an Agile development environment to fulfill objectives.
