Wayne UNC Health Care is seeking a Unit Secretary-Nursing Assistant I to support the 2nd Floor Post-Surgical Unit. You will perform secretarial duties and basic nursing tasks under RN/LPN supervision to ensure quality patient care.

The role emphasizes greeting patients, assisting with vital signs, personal care, documentation, and effective communication within a fast-paced unit. Night shift, full-time, onsite at WAYNE MED.

Qualifications

• Completion of state approved Level 1 Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation program or its equivalent.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required, any higher education will supersede this requirement.
• Current listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I registry.

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs patients and visitors professionally and provides quality patient care.
• Measures vital signs and assists with personal care, nourishment, and elimination needs.
• Completes documentation accurately and thoroughly per unit standards; updates patient information as required.
• Promotes effective communication between patients, teammates, providers and visitors; reports changes promptly.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly environment; follows infection control and safety protocols.
• Responds to emergencies, assists with CPR or other needed emergency care within scope of practice.
