Job summary

UNC Health Care in Wayne County seeks a Unit Secretary-Nursing Assistant I to support the Progressive Care Unit on the 7th Floor Telemetry. You will perform secretarial tasks and basic nursing duties for patients and families during the Day Job, onsite at Wayne Med.

Qualifications include completion of state-approved Level 1 Nurse Aide training, a high school diploma, and current NC Nurse Aide I registry; CPR/BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of state approved Level 1 Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I registry.
• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
• At least one year in a health care role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, greets and directs patients and visitors professionally.
• Provides basic nursing care such as measuring vitals and assisting with activities of daily living.
• Completes documentation accurately according to unit standards.
• Promotes effective communication among patients, staff and families.
• Maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Assists with scheduling, coordination and interdepartmental collaboration as needed.
