Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse for the Post-Surgical Unit. Day Shift available in our 30-bed acute care surgical hospital, committed to quality and patient-centered care.

The PSU nurse provides direct post-surgical care, responds to ED needs, manages pain and medications, and educates patients and families. Texas RN license and BLS are required; ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license and BLS; ACLS within 6 months.
• Minimum two years RN experience in a hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within RN scope and hospital policies.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care per physician orders.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations.
• Identify educational needs and document patient/family education.
• Manage acute and chronic pain for post-procedure patients and others as needed.
• Deliver medications safely and monitor patient response.
• Document following hospital policies.
