Job summary

UNC Health southeastern in Lumberton, NC is seeking a Perioperative Registered Nurse to coordinate postoperative care with a primary focus on post‑discharge follow‑up calls and infection surveillance.

You will reinforce patient education, identify early warning signs, and facilitate timely clinical interventions while documenting assessments in the EMR to support safe recovery and outpatient surgery workflows.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina (minimum).
• Knowledge of postoperative recovery, infection prevention, patient education principles.
• Strong assessment, communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate postoperative care with emphasis on post‑discharge follow‑up calls.
• Assess patients for complications including surgical site infections.
• Reinforce education and identify early warning signs to facilitate timely clinical intervention.
