Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Preop/PACU to deliver comprehensive, safe nursing care across the age spectrum from pediatric to geriatric. Under supervision, provide nursing care, supervise team members, and assist in PACU decisions when the manager is unavailable.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, NC licensure, BLS, and ACLS/PALS within 6 months. Perioperative and critical care experience are preferred to support a high-quality operating

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; Associates degree required, BSN preferred.
• Current licensure in North Carolina or compact multi-state RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained within 6 months; preferred on hire.
• Minimum 1 year perioperative nursing experience; 1 year critical care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide quality patient care according to established standards.
• Collaborate on discharge planning with the care team.
• Apply age-specific standards for adolescent to geriatric patients and analgesia considerations.
• Incorporate cultural and developmental needs into the plan of care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and delegate appropriately to staff.
• Document patient care in the EMR according to standards.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and problem-solving teams.
• Complete additional duties as needed.

Education

Associates degree

BSN preferred

Current NC or compact RN license

BLS certification

ACLS & PALS within 6 months
