Job summary

Southpoint Surgery Center in Durham, an affiliate of North Carolina Specialty Hospital, seeks an experienced RN for PACU duties in a new ambulatory setting.

Under minimal supervision, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, mentor teammates, and support discharge planning. Requires NC RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS within 6 months, plus perioperative and critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program and maintain NC RN license.
• Current BLS required; ACLS/PALS needed within 6 months.
• Perioperative and critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process for the PACU.
• Supervise and guide patient care team and participate in care decisions.
• Coordinate discharge planning with the care team.
• Apply age-specific standards for adolescent to geriatric patients.
• Document care accurately in patient records.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Maintain safety and quality across the age continuum.
