Job summary

Forsyth County Department of Social Services is hiring a full-time Social Worker - Post Adoption Specialist to provide post adoption support services to children and families who have finalized the adoption process. The role involves assessing family needs, offering information and referrals, and coordinating with State Consultants and partnering agencies on post adoption financial matters.

The position requires independent decision making, professional judgment, and the ability to communicate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work.
• Master's degree in Counseling.
• Four-year degree in Human Service or related field with at least 15 semester hours in Social Work or Counseling and six months of related experience.
• Four-year degree with one year of counseling or related Human Service experience.
• Higher education level may substitute for all or part of the experience requirement.
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking candidates are a plus.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide post adoption support services and referrals.
• Process Adoption Subsidy tasks: non-recurring fees, replacement checks, state adjustment requests, verification letters, and vendor requests.
• Maintain and audit Adoption subsidy records.
• Assist Senior Social Workers with tasks as needed.
• Other duties as directed.
