Job summary

REM Community Services, a Sevita family, is seeking a Behavior Support Professional to provide services for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will develop training plans, train Direct Support Professionals, and monitor the effectiveness of behavioral support plans.

Responsibilities include conducting functional assessments, creating Positive Behavior Support Plans, and collaborating with teams to implement consistent strategies across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in human services or Board of Regents degree.
• One year of professional experience in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities field.
• Completion of training and certification courses as required by state regulations.
• Previous experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops training plans with person-specific aspects and intervention methods.
• Provides training to staff on training plans across recipient supports.
• Evaluates and monitors training plan effectiveness monthly.
• Revises training plans as needed and addresses maladaptive behaviors.
• Performs related duties as required.
• Completes Functional Assessments and creates Positive Behavior Support Plans.
• Provides staff training on Behavioral Support Plans and monitors outcomes.
• Collaborates with multiple teams to ensure consistent Positive Behavior Support strategies.
• Facilitates person-centered planning and participates in interdisciplinary meetings.
