Job summary

REM Community Services, a part of Sevita, delivers community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Behavior Support Professional provides training and supports to promote adaptive skills and positive behavior.

You will develop and implement training plans, supervise Direct Support Professionals, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a human services field or Board of Regents degree.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities field.
• Completion of required state trainings and certifications as required by regulations.
• Previous experience providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops training plans with person-specific aspects and methods of intervention.
• Trains staff on plan implementation (family, PCC, day habilitation, supported employment, crisis, respite).
• Evaluates training plans monthly and revises as needed; may address maladaptive behaviors.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Completes functional assessments and creates Positive Behavior Support plans as needed.
• Collaborates with teams and participates in interdisciplinary meetings.
