Job summary

RiverView Health in Crookston, MN is seeking a Patient Access Representative – Main Clinic. This PRN, on-call role covers 7am–7pm shifts at the Crookston location and may support weekend rotation based on need.

You will greet and register patients, verify information, schedule appointments, and communicate with clinicians and insurance providers. Prior customer service experience and healthcare familiarity are preferred, with attention to accuracy and courteous service.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of customer service experience.
• Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones and schedules patients for initial or follow-up appointments.
• Greets and registers patients while collecting and entering information for visit.
• Communicates with patients, families, physicians, nurses and insurance companies.
• Performs insurance verification real time or manually for eligibility.
• Collects co-pays and other patient liabilities at point of service.
• Obtains signatures for all necessary documents and reconciles daily cash.
• Cross-trained to Emergency Department Patient Access responsibilities when needed.

Patient Access Representative - PRN

Location: Crookston - Main ClinicSchedule: PRN (On-Call - as needed)Clinic hours:Monday-Friday 7 AM - 7 PM

Pay Range: $20.46 - $26.47/per hour (DOE)

Job Status:Non-Exempt/Hourly, non-benefitted position

The Patient Access Representative:

• Answers phones and schedules patients for initial of follow-up appointments.
• Greets and registers patients while collecting and accurately entering all information required for visit.
• Communicates clearly and effectively with patients and families, physicians, nurses and insurance companies.
• Performs insurance verification either real time or manual verification for eligibility.
• Performs point of service, collection of co-pays and other patient liability.
• Obtains signatures for all necessary documents.
• Safeguards and reconciles all monies collected daily in compliance to cash handling policies and procedures.
• This position will be cross trained to the Emergency Department for Patient Access responsibilities in that area when needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience
• Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time

Preferred:

• Experience in health care setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience in Patient Access and/or Epic
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, insurance

Competencies:

• Ensure accurate data entry for patient registration and scheduling
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
