RiverView Health in Crookston, MN seeks a Part-time/PRN Patient Access Representative for the Main Clinic. This on-call role covers 7am–7pm shifts and may include weekend rotations based on need.

The position registers patients, verifies insurance, collects co-pays and coordinates scheduling while ensuring accurate data entry and professional communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of customer service experience.
• Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods.
• Preferred: experience in healthcare or patient access.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones and schedules patients for initial or follow-up appointments.
• Greets and registers patients, collecting and entering information for visit.
• Communicates clearly with patients, families, physicians, nurses and insurers.
• Performs insurance verification real time or manually for eligibility.
• Collects co-pays and other patient liabilities at point of service.
• Obtains signatures for all required documents and reconciles daily cash.
• Cross-trained to Emergency Department for Patient Access when needed.

Patient Access Representative - PRN

Location: Crookston - Main ClinicSchedule: PRN (On-Call - as needed)Clinic hours:Monday-Friday 7 AM - 7 PM

Pay Range: $20.46 - $26.47/per hour (DOE)

Job Status:Non-Exempt/Hourly, non-benefitted position

River View Health has an opening for a (PRN - as needed)Patient Access Representative – Main Clinic. This position would cover shifts between 7am – 7pm. in our Crookston location and may support our weekend rotation (flexible hours) based on need.

The Patient Access Representative:

• Answers phones and schedules patients for initial of follow-up appointments.
• Greets and registers patients while collecting and accurately entering all information required for visit.
• Communicates clearly and effectively with patients and families, physicians, nurses and insurance companies.
• Performs insurance verification either real time or manual verification for eligibility.
• Performs point of service, collection of co-pays and other patient liability.
• Obtains signatures for all necessary documents.
• Safeguards and reconciles all monies collected daily in compliance to cash handling policies and procedures.
• This position will be cross trained to the Emergency Department for Patient Access responsibilities in that area when needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience
• Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time

Preferred:

• Experience in health care setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience in Patient Access and/or Epic
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, insurance

Competencies:

• Ensure accurate data entry for patient registration and scheduling
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
