Job summary

Kittery Schools seeks an Educational Technician II to support students in the Functional Lifeskills program at Shapleigh School. You will work with 4th–8th graders, helping teachers implement IEPs, collect progress data, and follow behavior plans, while supporting instruction in various settings.

The role emphasizes 1:1 or small-group support, assisting with classroom instruction when needed, and promoting student independence as a core goal.

Qualifications

  • Current Maine Ed Tech certification.
  • Fingerprinting and successful Criminal History Record Check through the Maine Department of Education.

  • Support 4th–8th grade students in the Functional Lifeskills program.

Required Certification: Maine Ed Tech certification

Responsibilities

The Educational Technician II works with 4th‑to‑8th‑grade students in the Functional Lifeskills program, supporting Special Education teachers and students to reach their goals.

  • Support teachers in implementing students’ Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Collect data and monitor student progress
  • Follow behavior support plans and manage classroom behavior
  • Instruct students in assigned content areas
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups as needed
  • Assist with classroom instruction and step in when the teacher is absent for meetings
  • Provide support in all settings, including general education classrooms
  • Promote student independence as a top priority
Qualifications
  • Current Maine Ed Tech certification
  • Fingerprinting and successful Criminal History Record Check through the Maine Department of Education
