Sharp Brains is seeking a POS Terminal Support Technician for a contract role covering Columbia/Greenville area. The position requires hands-on POS hardware experience, field service skills, and the ability to travel between retail locations to install, troubleshoot, and maintain POS systems.

Ideal candidates will handle hardware diagnostics, network connectivity (Ethernet/TCP/IP/Wi‑Fi), and provide excellent customer service during onsite visits. Travel locally is required.

POS Terminal Support Technician

Max PR: $20-25/hr

Location: Columbia/ Greenville

Must have a personal vehicle and a valid driver's license to travel between assigned retail customer locations

Position Overview

Sharp Brains is seeking customer-focused POS Terminal Support Technicians to support a large-scale retail technology deployment throughout Florida.

The ideal candidates will have hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting POS systems, along with a background in field service, hardware support, or retail technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support POS terminals at retail customer locations.
• Troubleshoot POS hardware and connectivity issues.
• Perform basic hardware diagnostics, break/fix, and equipment replacement.
• Support Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Wi‑Fi connectivity troubleshooting.
• Provide onsite technical assistance to customers and end users.
• Travel locally between assigned customer locations.
• Ensure POS equipment is functioning properly and issues are resolved efficiently.
• Maintain professional communication with customers throughout service visits.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience installing or supporting POS systems.
• Hands-on experience with POS hardware and troubleshooting.
• Field service or onsite technical support experience.
• Basic understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Wi‑Fi troubleshooting.

• Verifone POS terminal experience.

Candidates should be comfortable working onsite at retail locations and providing hands-on technical support.
