Cardinal Business Equipment in Missouri is seeking an experienced computer and network technician to service and maintain POS systems at customer locations. The role spans hardware, software, and network troubleshooting for restaurant and retail clients.
You will provide on-site and remote support, install updates, and help with configurations and integrations. Training is provided, along with a company vehicle and compensation based on a 40-hour week.
This Opportunity is for an experienced computer and network technician, to service and maintain our customers Restaurant and Retail Point of Sale systems at their business locations.

The components of a POS system include
Hardware: The physical tools to ring up sales. This includes touchscreens, barcode scanners, receipt printers, payment terminals, kiosks, and kitchen video systems
Software: It tracks what you sell, determines how you order it, tells the kitchen how it should be prepared, what server and table ordered it, updates your stock automatically, keeps track of all the restaurants’ orders by person, and calculates and prepares all the customers’ receipts, transacts all payments, and generates sales reports
Field Service Responsibilities
Traveling to the customers’ location and troubleshooting the POS hardware and networks and providing onsite resolution. In addition to the hardware mentioned above you will also be responsible for trouble shooting all components of the POS network including managed switches, firewalls, access points, credit card terminals and handheld pay at the table devices, Cabling – Cat 5 and 6 network cabling & RS232.
Non-Field Service Responsibilities
Other responsibilities include -Inside repair of the above equipment, staging new systems for installation, making cables, and installing new systems into the customers’ locations.

Compensation: 38K to 50K (Relative to experience)
Medical Ins. 401K, Company Vehicle
Transportation: The position includes a company work vehicle and tools.
Training: You will receive training on the POS software internally, and from the Software Vendors
Field Support: you will have field support provided through our in-house support helpdesk team.
Location: You will be working out of our newly renovated Technology Center located at 9331 Natural Bridge Rd, just minutes from the St Louis International Airport (Lambert Field).
Other job information: The position does require some after-hour emergency repair. The pay is hourly and based on a 40hr work week Mon-Fri 8-5pm. The pay period Is biweekly.

Detailed Responsibilities:
Stage, Install, configure, and maintain POS systems, software applications, and install system updates.
Learn the configuration and setting up of our POS Software Applications (Listed Below)
Provide on-site and remote support and troubleshooting to end users.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance of equipment.
Provide second-level technical support for servers, touchscreen terminals and tablet hardware, software, and peripheral issues
Diagnosing and resolving advanced hardware technical issues escalated from the L1 & L2 support team.
Perform root cause analysis to identify recurring technical problems and develop solutions.
Excellent in troubleshooting break/fix issues of windows, IOS tablets and Android terminals.
Assist with network connectivity issues, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN
Collaborate with IT team members on projects, upgrades, and implementations.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, issues, and resolutions using the company’s ticketing system.
Train and mentor junior technicians as needed.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and ensure user satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge and experience in network configurations, Cat5-6 cabling, switches, routers, and access points
Knowledge of operating systems including Windows, Linux, and MAC
Ability to manage physical workload.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Familiarity with remote desktop tools and support software
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support
Experience:
2 years’ experience in servicing computer equipment or other related fields
Knowledge of restaurant operations is helpful.
