Job summary

Jobotis seeking a Portfolio Controller to lead accounting for a dynamic real estate investment and development portfolio in McLean, VA. This on-site, permanent role reports into finance leadership and focuses on sophisticated accounting, reporting, and capital activity across real estate assets and partnerships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in real estate investment, development, joint ventures, or partnership structures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Experience with JV, development, real estate, investment, and partnership accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee portfolio‑level accounting and financial reporting for real estate investments, development projects, joint ventures, and partnership entities.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accurate financial statements and reconciliations.
• Manage JV and partnership accounting, allocations, capital activity, and investor reporting.
• Prepare and review partnership waterfalls, equity waterfalls, and waterfall calculations.
• Coordinate capital calls, contributions, and distributions; maintain investor records.
• Oversee development accounting, CIP, project cost tracking, and draw requests.
• Monitor budgets, funding requirements, and variances with development teams.
• Lead consolidation, intercompany accounting, eliminations, and reconciliations.
• Maintain and enhance workflows in Yardi systems; deliver portfolio reporting to stakeholders.
• Coordinate audits with external accountants and tax advisors.
