Search Masters, Inc., a NYC family office real estate firm, seeks a Controller with 6+ years in real estate and corporate accounting to lead financial reporting, budgeting, and tax work across residential, commercial, and hospitality assets.

The role requires interaction with ownership, strong analytical abilities, and independent problem-solving. Public accounting experience is a plus, with Yardi proficiency and advanced Excel skills highly valued.

Qualificações

• Minimum of 6+ years of real estate and corporate accounting experience.
• Public accounting audit and/or tax experience a plus.
• Strong Excel skills for data manipulation and ad hoc analysis.
• Knowledge of Yardi is strongly desired.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee financial reporting and operational performance of a diverse real estate portfolio, including residential, commercial, and hospitality assets.
• Review third-party project financial statements and coordinate with property managers for accurate reporting.
• Process accounts payable, deposits, and intercompany/external cash transfers.
• Prepare daily/weekly cash reports for owner review.
• Manage monthly debt service journal entries, capital calls, mortgage abstracts, and schedules.
• Maintain real estate tax schedules and execute 1099 processes.
• Prepare tax certiorari work for properties under appeal.
• Process hotel sales tax filings accurately and timely.
• Produce quarterly compliance packages for banks and coordinate with third-party CPAs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, investment waterfall analysis, and job cost accounting for construction and capital projects.
• Ensure compliance with city, state, and federal regulations relating to taxes, payroll, and benefits.
• Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships.
