This position requires a High School Diploma or GED, and at least 1 year of related experience, with hotel/gaming property experience preferred. Availability to work all shifts, including nights and weekends, is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cleanliness and sanitization of all public areas within the property.
• Safely operate all cleaning equipment.
• Notify management of supplies needed or equipment maintenance.
• Follow procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving objects and materials.
• Clean up blood or infectious materials per OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard.
• Guarantee proper SDS labeling and use of cleaning materials/equipment per manufacturers’ instructions.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests per company standards; assist guests and guests with disabilities.
• Must be available to work all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Perform other job duties as requested.

Job description

The Porter Utility will play an important role in performing cleaning duties, through proactive and professional services for Palms Casino Resort. The Porter Utility will be responsible for the cleaning of all public areas throughout the property. The Porter Utility fulfills the detailed services of Palms Casino Resort and is highly knowledgeable in the operation of the equipment used to complete assigned projects. The Utility Porter is trained and certified in the proper use of equipment to perform detailed cleaning at Palms Casino Resort.

Core Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitization of all public areas within the property.

• Carefully and safely operate all cleaning equipment.

• Ensure all informational signs, light fixtures, picture frames, TV Monitors, and various high décor to be free of dust.

• Heavy cleaning such as shampooing carpets, stripping and waxing floors, polishing marbles, pressure washing, emptying trashcans, performing biohazard clean-up, etc.

• Notifies management of supplies needed or equipment requiring maintenance.

• Follows the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving objects and materials.

• Follows the required procedures for the cleanup of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and exposure control plan.

• Guarantees all chemicals in assigned areas have proper labels according to the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and ensures all cleaning materials/equipment are utilized per the manufacturer’s instructions.

• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.

• Must be available to work all shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays.

• Perform other job duties as requested.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of (1) year of related experience required and six (6) months of experience within a hotel/gaming property is preferred.

• Must be able to obtain appropriate licensing, work permits, and other work authorization cards based on the job they perform.

Physical Demands:

• Work is performed throughout the property, indoors and outdoors.

• Must be tolerant of varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

• Constant contact with executives, department management, employees, and guests.

• Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.

• Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.

• Eye/hand coordination.

• Use of standard office equipment.

• Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
