Job summary

Fyda Freightliner Columbus is seeking a detail‑oriented parking lot attendant to coordinate lot parking, perform daily checks, and update vehicle status in DMS systems. You will greet customers on arrival and guide them to the service desk, while ensuring the lot remains safe and organized.

Candidates should have 2+ years in Class 8 driving/repair, a valid CDL-B, and basic truck systems knowledge. This is a full‑time, on‑site role with benefits and a team‑friendly workplace.

Qualifications

• Be able to work M-F, 10:30AM-7:00PM
• Know how to jump start a truck
• Basic knowledge of Class 8 Truck Systems
• Minimum of 2 years of Class 8 driving or repairing experience
• Valid CDL-B
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Professional and friendly demeanor
• Ability to communicate across multiple levels of staff

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all parking within the lot
• Monitor and report trucks sitting more than 7 days after repairs
• Assist in keeping driving lanes clear and tag/prep vehicles
• Update DMS and uptime ProDirect with status of vehicles
• Greet customers and guide them to the service desk
• Park customers’ trucks after write-up and stage vehicles for pickup
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures for safety checks
• Maintain sidewalk areas and keep parking area clean

Fyda Freightliner Columbus is an Elite Support Certified dealer of new Freightliner trucks and Crane Carrier vocational severe-service vehicles, and carries a large inventory of all-makes of pre-owned trucks. Fyda Freightliner Columbus is the largest retailer of new and used Expediters in the United States. Serving the Columbus transportation industry hub since 1985, we operate as a full-service commercial truck dealership and body shop.Responsibilities:Coordinate all parking within the lotKnow basic signs of undriveable truck to be able to avoid extra damageImprove parking segregation based on OTJ observationsCoordinate with Service Transporter and Foremen to set up a testing queue based on customer needs/timelinesPerform Daily lot checks and notify management of all vehicles sitting more than 7 days after repairs are completeCoordinate with foremen to stage vehicles based on destination in designated parking spotsWrite up to 1-2, EA to 3-8 and Main Shop to 9-13Update stories in DMS and Uptime ProDirect and greet customers upon arrival and guide to service deskPark customer’s trucks after write-upAssist in keeping the driving lanes clearGuide un-decker’s to proper un-decking areaStage vehicles for customer pickupDuring write-up properly prep customer vehicle with tags, mats, etc.Must carry and utilize a two-way radio for communicationVisually inspect trucks for lot damage while in our careEnsure trucks that came in overnight are parked in appropriate spots and properly tagged/preppedPeriodic lot patrol for customers that are prohibited working on their trucks in the parking lotInspect trailer area for trash/debris and clean upMaintain sidewalk areas free of trash, cigarette butts etc.Follow truck lock out tag out proceduresSubmit YOUR resume with confidence that all contacts with us are completely confidential.
