Fyda Freightliner Columbus is seeking a skilled Diesel Truck Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered commercial trucks at our on-site shop. This role requires hands-on diagnostics, safety-minded practices, and teamwork to support a busy service department.

You will troubleshoot engines and chassis, select parts and tools, and complete service paperwork accurately. The job requires a High School diploma or GED, a valid Class B CDL is a plus, and the ability to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED certificate required.
• 2 years verifiable experience with heavy-duty diesel trucks or equipment.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening (DOT guidelines apply).
• Must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines and chassis components.
• Determine parts and tools necessary for repairs.
• Complete service paperwork accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and operate in a team environment.
• Represent Fyda Freightliner in customer-facing interactions.
• Support on-site shop and mobile on-site service as needed.

Serving the Columbus transportation industry hub since 1985, we operate as a full-service commercial truck dealership and body shop.DescriptionAssist with on-site preventive maintenance and repairs of diesel-powered commercial trucks. You will be tasked with traveling to vendors or customer locations to diagnose and make mechanical, hydraulic, engine, chassis, and electrical repairs on diesel powered commercial trucks.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive maintenance and inspectionsTroubleshoot issues with diesel enginesTroubleshoot issues with chassis componentsDetermine parts & tools necessary for mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairsComplete service paperwork while maintaining efficiencyMaintain a safe clean work area, to include company vehicleRepresent Fyda Freightliner in a Customer facing rolePerform preventative maintenance and inspections in shop and on site mobileQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED certificateMust maintain an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that meets the Company’s eligibility.Must be able to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
