Job description

Ávila Retirement Community is currently seeking a Porter to work with our maintenance team. As the Porter, you would:

• Maintain the cleanliness of the property by handling floor care, general cleaning, trash removal, dusting, heavy cleaning, policing the grounds for debris, and apartment turnovers.
• Keep all storage and work areas neat and organized.
• Understand and implement emergency procedures for all aspects of plumbing, electrical, physical, and person safety on the property.
• Respond to emergencies immediately and appropriately, including personal (medical) emergencies and maintenance emergencies, carrying a cell phone as scheduled to provide on-call coverage.
• Walk throughout the building and do resident door checks as required.
• Establish and maintain cordial, professional relationships with residents, families, vendors, community groups, staff, applicants, and visitors.
• Manage paperwork, such as work orders.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor as required, including painting, assisting with apartment preparation, lawn care, snow removal, minor repairs and service requests.

Porter Minimum Salary: $17.00 per hour

Porter Maximum Salary: $20.00 per hour

Porter Schedule: Typically Tues-Sat or Wed-Sun, 9am-5pm. Opportunities for PT or FT work.

Qualifications:
