TalentoHC is partnering with a maritime organization seeking an experienced Port Facilities Security Manager to lead security operations for an active terminal facility in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on port, ferry, cruise, or marine security experience who understands the operational and regulatory requirements of a busy waterfront environment.

About the Opportunity

You’ll oversee day‑to‑day security operations, manage third‑party security vendors, coordinate staffing around vessel schedules, and help maintain a safe and compliant environment for employees, visitors, vessels, and terminal operations. The ideal candidate brings strong marine or port security experience and is comfortable working closely with vendors, port authorities, law enforcement, and operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily security operations for an active maritime terminal
  • Manage and monitor third‑party security vendors and security personnel
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and coverage based on vessel and terminal activity
  • Support compliance with MARSEC, ISPS, Facility Security Plans, and other maritime security requirements
  • Conduct security inspections, audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness activities
  • Oversee access control, CCTV, credentialing, and incident response procedures
  • Coordinate with port authorities, U.S. Coast Guard, law enforcement, vessel personnel, and other key stakeholders
  • Support security investigations, incident reporting, drills, and corrective actions
  • Partner with operational leadership on long‑term security planning and continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of security, terminal, or operations experience within a port, ferry, cruise, or maritime environment
  • Prior security supervisory or management experience
  • Strong understanding of marine terminal security and operational requirements
  • Experience managing security vendors, guards, staffing, or site coverage
  • Familiarity with MARSEC, ISPS, MTSA, PFSO, or Facility Security Plans
  • Experience with access control, CCTV, investigations, risk assessments, and emergency response
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • PFSO certification preferred or ability to obtain
  • Ability to work on‑site in St. Thomas and support operational needs around vessel schedules
