Job summary

TPIS in the US Virgin Islands seeks a safety-focused Deputy Terminal Manager to oversee fuel terminal and into-plane fueling operations in St. Thomas. You will work closely with the Terminal Manager to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operations and lead teams in a regulated industrial setting.

The role requires strong operational judgment, leadership and a commitment to safety. Availability for rotating shifts and weekend work is expected, with hands-on presence at the terminal.

Qualifications

  • Experience in terminal operations, fuel distribution, aviation fueling, or a comparable industrial environment.
  • Experience supporting or supervising operational teams.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Valid driver’s license with no endorsements.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard workplace applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Terminal Manager in meeting safety, security, health, quality and environmental requirements.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable local and federal regulations.
  • Implement safety procedures, issue work permits and promote a zero-shortcut safety culture.
  • Coordinate and supervise terminal and into-plane fueling activities, from vessel or aircraft arrival through departure.
  • Supervise tank dipping and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Support meter calibration and other metrology controls.
  • Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Conduct routine tests of operational and safety equipment.
  • Coordinate and participate in emergency drills and emergency response activities.
  • Assist with emergency response plans and employee training.
  • Support terminal projects and lead operational improvement initiatives.
  • Provide operational leadership coverage when required.
  • Assist with purchase orders, vendor services and invoice monitoring.
  • Perform other duties assigned by terminal management.

We are seeking a safety-focused and hands‑on Deputy Terminal Manager to support fuel terminal and into-plane fueling operations in St. Thomas.

This position works closely with the Terminal Manager to maintain safe, reliable and compliant operations. The ideal candidate combines operational judgment, leadership skills and a strong commitment to safety in a regulated industrial environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Availability to work rotating day and night shifts.
  • Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
  • Regular shift changes based on terminal operating requirements.
  • Hands‑on presence at the terminal and into-plane fueling facilities is required.
