Job summary

The Blue Ridge Health District of the Virginia Department of Health is seeking a Population Health Community Coordinator to support community engagement, communications, and public health initiatives across Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, and Charlottesville. You will help develop public-facing educational materials and coordinate partnerships with local organizations.

You will manage social media and newsletters, oversee BRHD’s Canva account for graphics and educational content,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of population health data collection and demographics.
• Excellent oral and written communication to guide staff and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage budget, grants, and ensure compliance with funding guidelines.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners to promote health initiatives.
• Proficiency with Canva or similar graphic design platforms.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate community engagement activities for the Population Health Division.
• Support communications by writing newsletters, managing social media, and developing information materials.
• Manage BRHD Canva account and create graphics, flyers, and educational content.
• Support CHA/CHIP activities and collaborate with Population Health staff.
• Foster relationships with community partners and coordinate meetings and events.
• Gather, organize, and share information to support population health strategies.
• Provide general coordination support for Population Health Division initiatives.
