Job summary

The Mount Rogers Health District of the Virginia Department of Health is seeking a Public Health Nurse (RN I) for the Galax City Health Department to deliver case management to pregnant women and infants through home visits and to assess those needing long-term services.

The nurse will coordinate care with partners, administer immunizations, provide occasional clinical services, and educate the community to improve health outcomes. Competitive benefits accompany the $54,795–$68,267 salary.

Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is dedicated to protecting and promoting the health of Virginians. The VDH is made up of a statewide Central Office in Richmond and 35 local health districts.

The Mount Rogers Health District is looking for a Public Health Nurse for the Galax City Health Department. The primary focus of this position is to deliver case management to pregnant women and infants through home visitation and to assess those who need long term services and support. This role provides an opportunity to strengthen community health by offering education, coordinating care, and collaborating with partner organizations. Additionally, the nurse will administer immunizations and provide occasional clinical services. Minimum Qualifications
