Job summary

YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is seeking a part-time Lifeguard at the William G White Jr Family YMCA in Winston-Salem, NC. You will perform surveillance, enforce safety rules, and assist members with a friendly, educational approach.

The position requires lifeguard certification, CPR/First Aid/AED, and the ability to respond to emergencies rapidly while maintaining member relationships on all shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 for part-time lifeguard; 18 for full-time.
• Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen.
• Current YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent; cross-over to YUSA Guard within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain active surveillance of the pool area.
• Know and apply all emergency procedures; respond quickly per YMCA policies.
• Maintain positive relationships with members and staff.
• Follow safety rules and maintain records per health department codes.
• Perform equipment checks and assist with pool chemical testing as required.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings.
