Job summary

Wilkes Family YMCA in Wilkesboro, NC is seeking a part-time lifeguard to ensure pool safety and serve as a friendly public-facing representative of the Y. You will supervise the pool, enforce rules, and assist members with brief, educational guidance as shifts vary.

The role requires current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications, plus lifeguard readiness and cross-over to YUSA Guard within 90 days. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum age for part-time positions is 16; 18 for full-time.
• Certifications required: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen.
• Current YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent; cross-over to YUSA Guard within 90 days.
• Ability to maintain certification readiness and lifeguard skills per YMCA standards.
