Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Sr. Polysomnographic Technologist for the Sleep Evaluation Services in Southfield, MI. This full-time night role covers Sunday, Thursday and Friday with 36 hours weekly, under the Medical Director and department leadership.

The position involves comprehensive sleep disorder evaluation, polysomnography, and education for patients. Experience in Sleep Medicine and formal polysomnography training are required, with ARRT/ABSM or related registrations preferred.

Qualifications

• Formal training in polysomnography or enrolled in an accredited polysomnography program.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a fully registered polysomnographic technologist.
• Three years' experience in Sleep Medicine.
• Board certificates or registry requirements for CRT/Registered Sleep Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide polysomnographic evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic sleep services per supervision.
• Supervise other staff as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Job description

Scope

A Polysomnographic Technologist Sr. works under the general supervision of the Medical Director, and designee (department director/manager/supervisor) to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technologist II can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technologist and provides assigned by department director/manager/supervisor supervision of other staff.

Qualifications

• Formal training in polysomnography program and/or enrolled in a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option OR enrolled in or have completed the A-STEP online Self Study Modules.
• Non-registered technologists and technicians must complete A-Step online Self Study Modules within two years of enrollment.
• All technical staff must participate in at minimum 10 hours per year (averaged over three years) of sleep-related continuing education credits.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a fully registered, full-time polysomnographic technologist.
• Three years' experience working in the field of Sleep Medicine required.
• CRT-Polysomnographic Technologist-BRPT (Board of Registered) Required or
• CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry-NBRC (National Board of Respiratory Care) Required Or
• CRT-Registered Sleep Technologist-ABSM (American Board of Sleep Medicine Require Or
• CRT-Basic Life support Required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
