Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital in Olympia Fields, IL is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist-Level I for the Sleep Disorder Center nights to perform sleep data analysis, diagnostic polysomnograms, CPAP titration and MSLT tests, ensuring standards. Responsibilities include assisting the Sleep Center manager in daily operations, scheduling, answering phones, and staff education, while maintaining the environment of care and delivering sleep

Qualifications

  • NationalBRPT or AASM registration or licensed RCP is required.
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certification on hire and maintained.
  • Graduate of an accredited polysomnography or respiratory therapy program preferred.
  • 1 year technical sleep lab experience preferred; sleep study scoring experience preferred.
  • Associate or B.S. degree required; if not, high school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sleep disorder center procedures including data analysis and report generation.
  • Conduct diagnostic polysomnograms and CPAP/BiPAP/oxygen titration polysomnograms and MSLT tests.
  • Assist Sleep Center manager in scheduling, phones, and daily operations; may train staff.
  • Maintain environment of care and provide sleep health education to patients of all ages.

Overview

Department: OFIL Sleep Lab
Shift: Full-time, Nights
Facility: Olympia Fields Hospital
Location: 20201 South Crawford Ave, Olympia Fields, IL 60461

Responsibilities

The Polysomnographic Technologist-Level I performs all Sleep Disorder Center procedures, including but not limited to sleep data analysis and report generation, diagnostic polysomnograms, CPAP, Bi level and/or oxygen titration polysomnograms, and Multiple Sleep Latency Tests, in a manner consistent with community and national standards. Assists the Sleep Center manager/director in daily operations of the sleep Disorder Center, including but not limited to scheduling, answering phones, and other duties as directed by the manager or director. May be responsible for staff education and training as needed. Safely manages the environment of care while providing quality services for all customers. Provides physical and supportive care and sleep related health education to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Nationally registered in polysomnography with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists - BRPT, or the American Academy of Sleep Medicine – AASM required, or a licensed RCP
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Graduate of an accredited polysomnography program or respiratory therapy program preferred
  • 1 year technical experience working in a sleep lab/center preferred
  • Experience scoring sleep studies, preferred
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree required. If there is no Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree, a high school diploma or equivalent is required
