Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist for full-time night shifts at the Dearborn Care Center. The role involves comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, performing polysomnography, and providing patient education.

Supervision of staff may be required. Qualifications include formal training in polysomnography or enrollment in an accredited program, A-STEP modules, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Formal training in polysomnography or enrollment in an accredited polysomnography program.
  • Enrollment in or completion of A-STEP online self-study modules.
  • All technical staff must complete at least 10 hours per year of sleep-related CE credits.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Provider certification.
  • 1 year of relevant experience (1-3 years preferred).
  • BRPT/NBRC credentials required on hire.
  • BLS requirements via AHA or ARC on hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.
  • Perform polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, and patient care education.
  • May supervise other staff and support department operations.

Job description

Corewell Health is offering up to a $3,000 sign-on bonus to external hires and internal new grads currently in a student role.

FULL TIME-NIGHTS

HOURS 6PM TO 6AM

LOCATION: CARE CENTER, DEARBORN

Scope Of Work

A Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the Medical Director and designee (department director/manager/supervisor) to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technologist can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician and may provide supervision of other staff.

Qualifications.

  • Required Formal training in polysomnography program and/or enrolled in a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option OR enrolled in or have completed the A-STEP online Self Study Modules.
  • Required non-registered technologists and technicians must complete A-Step online Self Study Modules within two years of enrollment.
  • Required All technical staff must participate in at minimum 10 hours per year (averaged over three years) of sleep-related continuing education credits.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Provider certification.
  • 1 year of relevant experience 1-3 years Preferred
  • CRT-Polysomnographic Technologist - BRPT Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists RPSGT or CPSGT Upon required Or
  • CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required Or
  • CRT-REGISTERED_SLEEP_TECHNOLOGIST-ABSM #N/A Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
