Job summary

Corewell Health is hiring aRegistered Nurse for the 9 North unit in Dearborn Hospital. This night-shift role spans 36 hours per week, with hours from 7:30pm to 8:00am and weekend rotation every other weekend. You will care for adult and geriatric patients, monitor telemetry, and collaborate with the care team to ensure quality outcomes.

The unit emphasizes growth, ongoing education, and patient-family centered care while offering a comprehensive benefits package and a sign-on bonus up to $12,000.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• Bachelors in Nursing required within 5 years.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
• Graduates from non-accredited schools must have acute care experience or licensure exam success.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care following the nursing process and patient-family centered care.
• Collaborate with the Nurse Leader and document in health records timely and accurately.
• Develop teaching strategies for patient/family and plan of care with input from patient/family.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and competently perform technical procedures and use equipment properly.

About The Unit

9 North is a 32 Bed Medical floor caring for the adult and geriatric population. We see a variety of different medical conditions and disease processes including Cardiac, Neuro, Respiratory, Infectious Disease, and Psych. The unit has the capability to monitor 8 cardiac telemetry patients. Nurses care for patients with acute conditions and manage patient’s chronic conditions. 9 North is a phenomenal learning unit that encourages personal and professional growth and development.

Scope of work

Nurses, under the ANA scope of practice, utilize the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. Nurses provide quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health's policies and procedures. Applies the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and discharge needs of patient/family/significant other. Partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care. Demonstrates knowledge of and competently performs technical procedures and uses equipment properly. Documents in the patient record in a timely, accurate and concise manner. Develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required upon hire
