Job summary

Republic Services in Allentown, PA, seeks a Polymer Center Technician A to maintain and repair sorting, grinding, and washing equipment, diagnosing complex electromechanical issues and scheduling work for safe, efficient operations.

You’ll apply preventive maintenance, read PLCs, and coordinate with operators and vendors while following safety policies and contributing to reliable performance across our Polymer Center network.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with maintenance and repair of equipment in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience.
• PLC Programming experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Mechanical, electrical, or trade school certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintains advanced knowledge of all Polymer Center sorting/grinding/washing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on Polymer Center equipment, such as conveyors, screens, reducers, balers, optical sorting units, air drum separators, etc., to maximize safe and productive operations.
• Repairs or replaces parts as directed by a work order system and completes field service reports.
• Overhauls or replaces machine components and replaces worn items.
• Communicates with supervisor and/or equipment operators for clarification of problems and preventive techniques.
• Independently troubleshoots and maintains complex electromechanical equipment.
• Completes daily consumables report for input in Republic Services Dossier system.
• Performs preventative maintenance according to standard schedules.
