Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Polymer Center Maintenance Technician A to maintain and repair advanced sorting and processing equipment at our Indianapolis-area facility. You will diagnose electromechanical systems, program simple PLCs, and ensure safety standards are met while minimizing downtime.

The role requires at least 3 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or distribution, welding/fabrication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Welding or fabrication skills preferred.
• PLC programming experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Trade school certificate in mechanical/electrical trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain advanced knowledge of all Polymer Center equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Repair conveyors, screens, reducers, balers, optical sorting units, and related machinery to maximize safety and productivity.
• Troubleshoot complex electromechanical equipment and perform PLC programming as requested.
• Complete work orders, daily consumables reports, and input data into asset management systems.
• Coordinate repairs with supervisors and equipment operators to minimize downtime.
