Job summary

Alaska Airlines seeks a Policy & Procedures Specialist to develop and implement policies for operational functions across Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. The role will research, document, and interpret procedures to support frontline agents, representatives, and leadership.

You will collaborate across divisions to influence technology changes, ensure policy compliance, and support safety and operational excellence while traveling about 10% of the time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in software tools, policy & procedures programs, or equivalent airline operations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong process orientation and attention to detail with ability to simplify complex policies.
• Ability to lead projects and cross-divisional collaboration.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of work hours.
• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum age 18; US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, document, and implement policies and procedures for assigned function.
• Develop solutions to training program requirements and approve curriculum materials.
• Create and maintain department manuals, publications, and documents.
• Analyze policy effectiveness and recommend changes.
• Select necessary training products.
• Collaborate across divisions to develop new technology and build relationships.
• Support frontline employees by interpreting policy and investigations; site visits.
• Provide input on frontline business systems improvements.
• Facilitate Safety Risk Assessments and implement SMS-driven policy changes.
