Job summary

The State of Ohio's House of Representatives is seeking a Legislative Aide for the Republican Caucus in Columbus to provide office support, scheduling, mail handling and constituent outreach. You may draft legislation and track bills, and assist with meetings and reports.

As a full-time staffer, you will manage district office operations, coordinate travel, prepare documents, and liaise with caucus policy staff. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Interacts professionally with members, peers, constituents and the public.
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing; multitasks to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily operations of the district office at the Riffe Center.
  • Answers and screens telephone calls and handles district mail.
  • Staffs member for committee, session, and legislative meetings at the Statehouse.
  • Drafts writing assignments on behalf of the representative (letters, speeches, press releases).
  • Organizes and maintains files and prepares minutes/reports.
