Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Legislative Aide to support the Government Relations Office. You will help guide information flow that supports policy decisions and work with experts who evaluate laws affecting statewide services.

This role offers research, legislative review, and communication opportunities, with responsibilities including drafting responses, analyzing bills, coordinating with staff and legislative partners, and tracking legislation related to department programs

Qualifications

• One year of governmental experience, including one year of work directly related to legislative analysis; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Draft responses and research inquiries from legislative offices.
• Review proposed and current legislation to determine fiscal, program, or legal impact.
• Assist in drafting bills and relay information to the Governor's Legislative Office.
• Track bills related to Department programs and education.
• Compile legislative comments from program offices and prepare summaries.
• Help maintain contact with House and Senate offices and assist with testimony preparation.
