Job summary

The Legislative Service Commission in Columbus seeks a Legislation Processing Specialist to type, format, and proofread legislative documents for the Ohio General Assembly. Duties include final processing in custom software and in Microsoft Word, applying drafting styles, and monitoring an assignment database to ensure timely completion.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Excellent typing, proofreading, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime and manage priorities in a confidential, nonpartisan environment.

Responsibilities

• Typing, formatting, and team proofreading of legislative documents.
• Electronically processing final versions of legislative documents.
• Applying styles and ensuring proper bill drafting rules.
• Monitoring an assignment database for timely completion.
• Entering and verifying data as needed.
• Staffing the bill preparation area during night/weekend shifts and assisting others.
