Job summary

The Town of Groton Police Department seeks a skilled Police Support Specialist to manage critical records, data, and technology systems essential to daily law enforcement operations. This role ensures accuracy, security, and accessibility of police records while guiding technology initiatives and maintaining confidentiality.

Under supervision, duties include advanced records management, FOI responsiveness, dashboards, and staff supervision in the records division.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional college coursework in CIS or related field preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting police or law enforcement technology systems.
• Must obtain/maintain CJIS credentials (NCIC, COLLECT, AFIS, LiNX, CISS, CAD/RMS) and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Review, process, and maintain police reports, case files, citations, and statistical data.
• Manage records requests in accordance with FOI laws and coordinate subpoenas.
• Lead and support police technology initiatives; coordinate with the Town IT Department.
• Provide training and staff assistance to Police Administration; supervise records division staff.
