Job summary

The City of Port Arthur is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker for Port Arthur, TX. The role supports the Police Department by performing semi-skilled maintenance and related services across facilities and properties.

You will operate maintenance tools and equipment, perform carpentry, basic repairs, and safety tasks; a high school diploma or GED is required, plus a Texas driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

Knowledge of general maintenance tools and equipment.
Ability to perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Operate maintenance equipment such as trucks, mowers, air compressors, and drills.
Perform repairs and maintenance on department facilities and properties.
Ensure worksite safety by setting up barricades and safety devices.
Travel between department facilities and external sites as needed.
Plant, trim, or remove vegetation and debris as requested.
Perform rough carpentry and minor repairs on equipment.
Provide maintenance support and supervise as needed.
Complete daily schedules and timekeeping accurately.
Inspect properties for weeds and apply herbicides as appropriate.
Assist in installing and repairing department equipment.
