Job summary

Landpoint seeks a Utility GIS Technician – Pole Inventory & Joint-Use to manage field-collected data and transform it into accurate datasets for engineering and planning. You will work with Katapult Pro, ESRI Field Maps, and GIS tools to support pole inventory, joint-use audits, and distribution system mapping.

Collaborating with field crews and project managers, you will ensure data quality, coordinate data collection requirements, and deliver compliant datasets to clients.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience processing utility data, GIS datasets, or pole inventory/joint-use programs.
• Experience supporting electric utility infrastructure projects preferred.
• Experience working with pole inventory or joint-use datasets highly preferred.
• Educational background in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and procedures.
• Problem solving and organizational skills are necessary.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field data collection for pole inventory and joint-use projects.
• Process field data in Katapult Pro workflows and verify measurements.
• Review pole inventory and joint-use data for accuracy and ownership.
• Ensure data meets engineering requirements for pole loading analyses.
• Maintain project data repositories and version control.
• Support field crews and coordinate data corrections as needed.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to meet schedules and deliverables.
