Job summary

United Utility Services seeks a Utility Pole Inspector/Assessment Technician to perform visual and physical pole condition assessments for transmission and distribution programs. Duties include sounding, boring, groundline work, decay evaluation, and digital reporting per client specs.

Role requires frequent field work with travel, PPE compliance, and use of tablets for data capture and GPS tagging. Prior pole assessment experience and a valid driver's license are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in wood utility pole assessment and treatment preferred.
• Knowledge of pole condition, treatment eligibility, and reporting.
• Completion of required client training and competency tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform pole inspection per procedures and client specs.
• Conduct sounding, boring, and groundline checks.
• Record measurements, condition codes, and photos in mobile system.
• Follow client decision trees and escalate issues as needed.
• Comply with safety, environmental, and utility regulations.
• Support field crew and coordinate with Foreman.
